Yankton Children's Choir
Elita Eastman- Executive Director

Elita is the Music Teacher at Bon Homme school distric and a recent Performing Arts graduate of Mount Marty University. During her time there, she was involved in theatre and music; performing both onstage, and designing. If she wasn't in the theatre she was rehearsing in Mount Marty's two choirs: Chamber Choir and Smooth Benediction. She helped start and direct MMU's Drama summer camp in 2022 and in 2023. While most of her energy and time are used on music and theatre, she also spends her free time cooking, painting, and spending time with her friends and family.
Morgan Citterman- Accompanist

Morgan graduated from Mount Marty College in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Minor in Music with an emphasis on singing. She has been an accompanist for over 14 years, having accompanied churches, schools, college choirs, contest soloists, and several musicals! That's a lot of experience! When she's not busy taking care of patients or accompanying on the piano she enjoys; reading, fishing, hiking, swimming, volleyball, video games, and spending time with friends.
A little about us...

The Yankton Children's Choir is an auditioned choir composed of 3rd through 8th graders in and around the Yankton area.

Every year we have two major concerts: One in the winter near the end of the first semester of school, and one in the spring near the end of the school year.

We were excited to have several summer singing opportunities this year having sung for a Yankton Area Arts Festival at River Boat Days and earlier this summer for the Yankton Area Arts Pops Concert.

This year we had 12 strong choir members with zero graduating out of the group and we look forward to adding more!
Gage Blaschke - Choral Director

Gage Blaschke graduated from Mount Marty College in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis on singing and conducting. During his time at MMC he was a member of all three choirs, participated in four ICCA's, and performed in three MMC musicals and two student directed plays. He spent one year teaching Music at Sacred Heart Middle School in Yankton. He is also very active in the community having had multiple roles over the last decade at the Lewis & Clark Theatre and has also had the opportunity to be the Music Director for several shows including; Footloose and Evil Dead. This is his tenth year as the Choral Director and he is as excited as ever for this season! In his free time he can be found playing video games, arranging music, playing disc golf, and running. His favorite thing about the Children's Choir is that the children want to be there and they have the ability to adapt and make music musical.
